Does anyoneone remember Super-typhoon June?
How our planes were flown to Clark and our escort was returned to port, yet we were sailed into it?

This from Wiki:
"Typhoon June was the strongest storm of the season, but it had no effect on land. At the time, June was the strongest typhoon on record, and tropical cyclone worldwide, with a minimum central pressure of 875 millibars. June was also the first recorded case of a typhoon with triple eyewalls."

We were in Subic for repairs to the forward elevator for two months, the starboard catwalk was ripped and twisted.
Our planned crossinbg of the equator was canceled and we sailed home to be decommissioned.

Does anyone have pictures?
